Strategic Partners

American Hospital Association (AHA)
Close to 5,000 hospitals, health care systems, networks, other providers of care and 37,000 individual members come together to form the AHA. Through representation and advocacy activities, AHA ensures that its members’ perspectives and needs are heard and addressed in national health policy development, legislative and regulatory debates, and judicial matters. Advocacy efforts include the legislative and executive branches and include the legislative and regulatory arenas. As an affiliate of the AHA, the Center is uniquely positioned to help members stay abreast of new developments in health care at the national level.

The Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET)
HRET’s focus on research and education helps hospital leaders address their everyday challenges by providing evidence-based tools, educational offerings and on-site consultations. The Center partners with HRET in the development of blue ribbon panel studies, as well as on our field study series, aimed at gathering information on current trends and practices in various areas of hospital governance, from hospital-physician relationships to health care finance. Center members are the first to receive new information emerging from such research activities.

The Institute for Diversity in Health Management (the Institute)
The Institute works closely with health services organizations and educators to expand leadership opportunities for ethnic minorities in health services management. The Institute’s mission is to increase the number of people of color in health services administration to better reflect the increasingly diverse communities they serve, and to improve opportunities for professionals already in the health care field. To accomplish this, the Institute has designed several initiatives to generate significant long-term results through educational programs, summer internships, professional development and leadership conferences. The Center works closely with the Institute on educational initiatives, as well as the ongoing development of services such as the Minority Trustee Candidate Registry, available to hospital and health system administrators via the Center’s Web site.

Trustee Magazine
Trustee is the only magazine in the health care field written specifically for the directors of hospitals and health care systems. The magazine aims to help its readers adapt to the changes in the health care environment by showing them new trends in health care delivery and provides direction in the art of governance. It gives trustees the information they need to lead their organizations. It also publishes articles that illustrate collaborative programs and initiatives designed to improve the quality of life in communities. In a recent survey of readers, 83 percent of respondents named Trustee as their primary source of health care information. The Center publishes a monthly column and special features in Trustee magazine, and Center members receive a complimentary subscription as a benefit of their membership.

The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)
ACHE is an international professional society of more than 30,000 healthcare executives who lead hospitals, healthcare systems and other healthcare organizations. ACHE is known for its prestigious credentialing and educational programs and its annual Congress on Healthcare Leadership, which draws more than 4,500 participants each year. ACHE’s established network of more than 80 chapters provides access to networking, education and career development at the local level. The Center provides content for it’s premier publication, Healthcare Executive, in a quarterly column titled “Governance Insights.” Archived columns will soon be accessible via the Center’s Web site.
