Are you looking for qualified individuals from diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds to serve on your hospital’s board of directors?
Minority Trustee Candidate Registry
Across the country, hospitals and health systems are seeking qualified individuals from diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds who are interested in participating in hospital governance.
In response, the American Hospital Association, along with its Institute for Diversity in Health Management and Center for Healthcare Governance, has developed a resource to connect boards with diverse candidates whose skills and interests may be a good match for their organizations.
The registry includes a diverse pool of candidates who have participated in a series of AHA-sponsored educational programs designed to prepare participants for board service. Curriculum includes examination of the basic principles by which a hospital board operates, including the trustee’s role and responsibilities and the board’s role in setting strategy and determining policy, as well as the unique challenges faced by health care governing boards.
If you are looking to increase the diversity of your board, we encourage you to use this registry to identify candidates whose skills and interests may be a good match for your organization.
